Historical accounts affirm that Jesus lived in the first century in Israel, where he taught publicly, gathered followers, performed miraculous acts, and was ultimately crucified under the Roman governor Pontius Pilate. These well-attested events in Christian and non-Christian accounts form the historical foundation of our faith.
At EMBC, we believe that Jesus is more than a teacher, prophet or public figure. We believe that Jesus is:
The Son of God
We believe Jesus is God in human form - fully divine and fully human. Through His life, He revealed God’s character, compassion, and purpose.
Our Saviour
The Gospel teaches us that humanity is separated from God because of sin - our tendency to turn away from God’s ways. We believe Jesus came to restore this broken relationship.
Through His death on the cross, He took upon Himself the consequences of our sin, offering forgiveness and reconciliation to all who trust in Him.
The Risen Lord
We believe Jesus rose from the dead three days after His crucifixion. His resurrection is seen as God’s declaration that Jesus’ sacrifice was sufficient and that death does not have the final word.
Because He lives, we believe Jesus offers new life - spiritual renewal now and the promise of eternal life with God – for all those who confess that He is God.
John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Why Does Jesus Matters Today?
Jesus teaches a message centred on love for God and others, freely offered grace, compassion for the vulnerable, and the hope of God’s renewing kingdom. His words continue to challenge, comfort, and inspire people across every culture and generation.
At EMBC, we seek to share the Gospel and teach the entire Bible, helping our community live a life transformed by Jesus.
